USEB 2025 Summary

USEB 2025 Summary

The Ukrainian School in Evolutionary Biology (USEB 2025) was held 27-31 January 2025 in Uzhhorod (Zakarpattia region, Ukraine),

USEB 2025 provided an intensive five-day educational program for students, young and senior researchers. The school focused on delivering up-to-date knowledge in evolutionary biology, offering hands-on training in modern research techniques, and fostering international collaborations. Twenty-six speakers from France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, Romania, Ireland, Poland, and Ukraine. The program featured workshops on molecular biology, bioinformatics, phylogenetics, career development, and scientific writing.

We have received 212 applications from Ukraine and many countries all over the world. Participants of the school were at different career levels: 13.7% Bachelor students, 34.7% Master students, 26.9% PhD students, 22.4% young scientists with a PhD degree, 2.3% with a habilitation (Doctor of Science).

YouTube streams and recordings received hundreds of views, and the numbers keep growing because lectures have become valuable learning material for students in Ukraine and abroad.
